What were the relationships like between Christians and Muslims?

Christians and Muslims were not always fighting each other.

From sources, I can see that the Christians who just arrived in Jerusalem were much more violent than the Christians who had lived their a long time with the Muslims. This might because the Christians who had lived there got to know the Muslims more and knew that they were not so different from themselves. The Christians who had just come to Jerusalem would see the Muslims as the opposition and enemy as they thought that the Muslims were taking their holy land.

From a source about Pope Urban's speech in 1095, the source tells me that the Pope was trying to convince other Christians to go on Crusade as the Muslims were taking over Jerusalem and have been violent and have 'killed and captured many people.' However, from a different source, it tells us that actually, the Christians were the ones being violent and merciless to the Muslims and stealing their goods.

On the other hand, one source shows us that the Christians and Muslims actually had quite a friendly and good relationship as some of them even married and Muslims have been baptized. Another source shows us that Christians and Muslims live together and live at comfort and are neighbours to each other and 'understand each other completely.'
